ELOPEMENT PHOTOGRAPHERS IN AUSTRIA
Monique and Sven love spending their free time in the mountains, enjoying sunrise and sunset either from a summit or from a hiking trail overlooking an epic mountain panorama. They travel from Germany to Austria as often as they can, having fallen in love with the many unique mountains and valleys. When they first contacted us and told us about their beautiful plans, we were completely enamoured with their romantic adventure idea. They had already chosen the perfect summit for their wedding vows. Surrounded by the epic landscape of the Hohe Tauern National Park with low-hanging clouds, we embarked on a journey of discovery that revealed the beauty of the Grossglockner to us. The colossal mountain range shimmered in the sun, and we witnessed one of the most impressive sunsets we have ever seen. The rays of the setting sun were reflected by the clouds and mountain peaks, revealing a beautiful natural spectacle. After sunset, they treated us to the best homemade wraps, and together we enjoyed the tranquillity of the mountains. It was simply breathtaking.
WHY ELOPING IN AUSTRIA AND CARINTHIA?
Austria, with its many mountains and regions such as the Dachstein, the Zugspitze, the Hochkönig, the Grossvenediger, and the Grossglockner, is the perfect playground for an adventure wedding. With so many beautiful mountain regions, it can sometimes be difficult to choose a favourite. Austria offers a wide selection of breathtaking nature, high peaks, and fantastic backdrops for photoshoots. We live in Carinthia, the state with over 1,200 lakes and its central and southern Alpine regions. There are many breathtaking peaks here, such as the Goldeck, Dobratsch, Gerlitzen, Aineck, Granattor, and the Three-Country Corner. The spectacular Goldeck Panorama Road, the Malta Hochalm Road, the Nockalm Road, and the Villach Alpine Road are also located here. Many impressive mountain locations are almost directly accessible by car, and the backdrop for the photo session often starts right next to the parking lot. Whether it’s an alpine lake with mountains in the background or a 360-degree view of the mountain landscapes, forests, and valleys – Carinthia and Austria have something for everyone.
It’s important to note that once you’ve found your perfect elopement location, you may want to take care of permits well in advance. This will ensure you arrive at the location relaxed on your wedding day and ensure everything runs smoothly on site.
WHEN IS THE BEST TIME OF YEAR AND DAY FOR A MOUNTAIN ELOPEMENT?
The mountain climate and high altitudes generally have a very short summer season. Typically, the end of June to the end of September is the best time to escape to the mountains, as there is little snow. At higher elevations, there may still be snow on some hiking trails in June, making some trails less accessible and certain roads still closed during the early summer season. Most mountain regions have a short fall season, as unexpected snowfall can occur at any time when the weather turns colder. We generally recommend arranging your photo session in the afternoon or early evening. Midday sun and even morning sun can be challenging, as this light is very harsh and not conducive to photography. However, the evening sun creates a spectacular atmosphere, and the sun’s rays are often broken up into many individual beams by the mountain peaks.
